Privacy First

This application does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on any server. Your data stays yours. The entire source code is publicly available — you can verify every claim on this page yourself.

Local Storage

Notes and settings are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you opt in to Google Drive sync.

Google Drive Sync

If you choose to sign in with Google, the application requests access to a hidden, app-specific folder on your Google Drive (drive.appdata scope). This means:

The app can only read and write its own hidden folder — it has no access to any other files on your Drive.
Your notes are stored in your own Google Drive account, under your own storage quota. They travel directly between your browser and Google and never pass through our server.
Your Google password is never seen by the app: you sign in on Google's own page.
So that you stay signed in without repeated pop-ups, the access Google grants (a "refresh token") is kept in an encrypted cookie in your browser. A small sign-in function on our server uses it only to fetch short-lived access tokens from Google. Nothing is logged or stored on the server.
Disconnecting Drive sync in the app revokes this access and deletes the cookie. You can also revoke access at any time via your Google Account permissions.

Cookies & Tracking

We do not use analytics or any tracking mechanisms. The only cookie is the sign-in cookie described above, set only if you turn on Google Drive sync.

Third Parties

We do not share any data with third parties. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which serves the static files but has no access to your notes or any content you create.
